[TechWeb] May 31 news, according to foreign media reports, local time on Thursday, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the company is working on a number of different projects, these projects may benefit from artificial intelligence voice assistant.
Zuckerberg said at the company's annual shareholder meeting: "I believe that we will develop more products in the next few years, and voice will become an important interface for these products. Around this, we are doing a lot of different things."
Facebook is the only large technology company that does not have its own voice assistant. The company has sold two Portal video chat devices that use Amazon's Alexa voice assistant.
In April of this year, CNBC reported that Facebook is building a voice assistant to compete with Amazon's voice assistant Alexa, Apple's voice assistant Siri and Google's voice assistant Google Assistant. Facebook confirmed this report.
In 2015, Facebook launched an assistant called M to process user requests through manual assistants, but the project was shut down by the company in early 2018.
Now it sounds like Facebook is developing a new artificial intelligence (AI) assistant that can respond to voice commands. (Little Fox)
