[TechWeb] April 15, according to foreign media reports, Germany's telecommunications regulator Federal Network Bureau Director Horman said Germany's 5G construction has no reason to exclude Huawei.
The German Federal Network Agency launched a 5G spectrum auction last month. The total number of bids submitted by the four operators competing for 5G network licenses, namely Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, Telefónica and Drillisch, has so far exceeded 5.2 billion euros. Once the auction is over, these companies can begin to build the infrastructure of the 5G network.
Horman said a ban on Huawei's involvement in the process would create trouble for Deutsche Telekom and its competitors. "if Huawei is excluded from the market, it will delay the construction of the digital network," he said.
Last month, German economy Minister Altmeier (Peter Altmaier) also said the country did not want Huawei to be banned from building Germany's 5G network, but would tighten safety standards for all suppliers.
